daddy’s girl

A daughter and her Daddy have a very special bond…a sweet and cherished love between one another.
Reese loves her Daddy.
I mean yes, Rylee loves him too. But Reese, she is crazy about him .
She loves for him to hold her.
She loves when he plays with her.
She loves when he comes home.
And yes…she said “da-da” first, just as Rylee did…
And Reese, no other boy will love you like your Daddy does.

my beautiful, my Rylee

Once upon a time….
my husband and I became…parents..
Little did we know how fast it all would happen.
3 wonderful years together, a long engagement, purchasing a house, college graduation.. and then…pregnancy
…an unplanned pregnancy…
I was scared. I was so nervous. I wasn’t sure I was ready to be a mom.
I didn’t know the first thing about how to care for a baby.
So, I did what I do in any situation that I become nervous about…I prayed.
 I knew that this was God’s plan. He would take care of me and my baby.
I remembered something my mother had always said since I was old enough to remember, “everything happens for a reason”.
So, during pregnancy, I read every book about growing a baby bump, giving birth, and parenting that I could get my hands on.
I learned things I never even heard of…like: poop color, diaper rash, cord blood donation…I mean you name it, I read it.
And then, on February 1, 2007, I met the beautiful little girl I had been falling in love with.
I remember every moment about the day she was born.
The winter chill, the traffic on the way to the hospital, every family member rushing to meet the new baby, the sound of her first cry, the first time she looked at me, the blanket wrapped tightly around her tiny fragile body, and the first time I held her.
..it is forever etched in my memory..
I remember our first night together – I snuggled her close to me and told her these words…
“my Rylee, I promise to always love you and care for you no matter what”
My heart was complete.
From the moment I first met her, I fell in love.
My first born. My daughter. My beautiful little Rylee.
...from a sweet angelic baby to a little diva rockstar…
Happy 5th Birthday Rylee!

fill in the blank Fridays… love is…

back to pre-school…

Twas the night before school, when all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse (except for me because I was packing lunches)
The children had just passed out in Rylee’s bed,
and I knew not to wake them, for it would be a dread.
~ok, enough of that~
these are some tired babies
Now look who is pumped for their first day of pre-school this year!
Just watching her get ready this morning makes me realize what a big girl she is now.
Here she is with her little friend Bryce – they’ve been pals since they were 2.

And here she is in class, she just walked right in and was happy to be there. (Which left me feeling happy because 2 years ago, she screamed bloody murder when I left)

Look at their little handwashing chart…adorable, yes? And Rylee knew just what to do.
Is my child the only one who doesn’t like to disclose the details of her school day? Its almost like she thinks “its MY school day and I don’t have to tell you a thing about it”. So I have to ask 1 billion questions from “who did you play with?” “what did you read about?” “who did you sit with at lunch?” “did you use the potty?” “did you use manners?” “did you go to the library?”
And admittedly, I sometimes bribe her to get her to tell me about her school day.
I know its ridiculous but I love to know how and what she did. So eventually she tells me, and I’m happy.

86,400

Imagine that you had won the following prize: each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in your bank account for you to use….
However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

Rules:

1. Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.

2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

3. You may only spend it.

4. The bank can end the game without warning.

What would you personally do?

Would buy anything and everything you wanted? Not only for yourself, but for all people you love? Maybe even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself?
well…actually this game is reality…except in another form…
Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is not credited to us.

What we haven’t lived up that day… is forever lost.

Yesterday… is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but it can be dissolved from your account at any time….
So, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars.
Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so quick.

* take care of yourself
* be happy
* treasure those you love
* enjoy life
* make memories
* dance
* laugh

{A friend emailed something similar of this to me…so I wanted to share with you…}

Enjoy the sunrise…
